It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 2008 Workshop of the International Centre for Quantum Structures (ICQS), to be held June 10-13, 2008 in Beijing and Changchun, China. The theme of this workshop is on (but not limited to) Carbon Nanostructures.

The format of the meeting is as follows. On June 10-11, a two-day part-I of the workshop will be held at ICQS located inside the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. In the evening of June 11, the workshop travels to Jilin University in the city of Changchun, in northeast of China, and part-II of the workshop is held there from June 12-13. We invite all of you to contribute and come to this workshop. You are welcome to give presentations in both Beijing and Changchun. We look forward to seeing you all at ICQS-2008.

Scientific Program


The scientific program of the workshop will begin at 8:30 am, June 10 and end on June 13, 2008. It consists of keynote lectures (40 min.), contributed lectures (15 min.), oral presentations in ※crash sessions§ (1-7 min.), and poster sessions. Since most of the participants will reside within the same hotel, we expect lively discussions and a high level of scientific interactions.

Note for Poster Presentation

Poster sessions will be arranged in every afternoon of conference dates near the conference room. Please use suitable font size to make sure that the poster is readable at a distance over 1 meter. The number on the bulletin board is in accord with the number in the Abstract Book. The poster size is about 90 cm (width) ℅ 120 cm (height).

Pre- & Post-Conference Tours

One day Pre-Conference Tour in Beijing, June 9, 2008


One day tour in Beijing in June 9 will be arranged. The participants are also invited to join the programs of the big celebration of the 80th year of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences at the same day.

Three days Post-Conference Tour
After the conference, three days tour to the mountain of ChangBaiShan will be arranged. ChangBaiShan has a great natural environment and ecosystem with a crater lake, hot springs, waterfalls and world famous precious animals like Northeast Tigers, sikas, sables etc. ChangBaiShan is one of China's premier natural regions with world importance.

8:30  leave for the mountain by a coach,
12:00 lunch in some famous place
17:00 get the hotel close to the mountain
June 15
Climb the mountain in whole day
June 16
8:30 leave to see other beauty sites briefly.
12:00 lunch
15:00 get to YanJie airport
17:00 flight back to Beijing
19:30 arrive at Beijing airport
